Fuel Payment Module
A mobile fuel payment module designed as part of a modular loyalty platform, enabling end users to pay for fuel directly from the app and access additional services offered by fuel providers. The solution was designed to integrate seamlessly with existing loyalty program features while remaining flexible enough to support different business requirements.

Problem
The existing mobile solution did not provide fuel industry clients with tools that would allow their users to access all services within a single application. Key functionalities such as in-app fuel payments, location-based station selection, and support for discounts and company cards were missing, limiting the overall value of the mobile experience.
My role and responsibilities
As one of the UX/UI designers working on this feature, I was responsible for reviewing business documentation and requirements, analysing existing solutions, and designing both the initial concepts and final user interfaces. My work focused on adapting previously designed concepts to new requirements and ensuring consistency with the existing design system.
Process
The work began with a review of documentation, analyses, and requirements prepared by the business analysis team. As a reference point, we revisited a previously designed gas station application created during an earlier internship project to assess which concepts and assets could be reused.
Based on this review, existing benchmarking insights, information architecture, and user flows were adapted to meet the specific needs of this module. Using components from the design system, initial mockups were created and iteratively refined in collaboration with developers and the project manager.

Once the screens were finalised, a prototype was prepared to present the complete fuel payment flow, covering the full process from station selection to transaction confirmation.
Solution
The final solution was based on extending and adapting an existing pay-at-pump concept. Geolocation was used to automatically identify nearby fuel stations, reducing manual input and speeding up the payment process. The flow also supported discount coupons, allowing users to apply benefits directly during the transaction.
In addition, a wallet module was designed to let users manage personal and company payment cards, review transaction history, and download receipts or invoices when needed. The overall experience focused on clarity, speed, and minimising friction during payment.
Outcome
The feature was not implemented before the end of my involvement in the project, so no post-launch metrics are available. However, feedback from stakeholders and the business analysis team indicated that the proposed solution significantly expanded the capabilities of the mobile application and increased its value for fuel industry clients and their customers.
Lessons learned and challenges
One of the main challenges was extending an existing payment flow with new features such as geolocation and discounts without increasing complexity. Designing the wallet module reinforced the importance of keeping financial interfaces simple and predictable. Close collaboration with analysts and developers was essential to ensure the solution aligned with both user needs and business goals.
